...Love by Daughter is about someone who was cheated on by someone they really cared about. The song starts off sad but calm with the speaker saying that she's tried to look past the mistake but that she's finding it difficult, she also acknowledges that her person regrets what he did. As the chorus starts she sounds less understanding as she thinks about what would have happened that night. She goes back and forth between these two moods until that music starts to speed up and more drums are added giving it an angrier feel, as if she's shouting at him. The lyrics show a lot of jealousy and resentment as well. By the end of the song it seems like she isn't going to forgive him for what he's done. Now imagine that they did stay in a relationship. She'd be left with the feeling that if he was capable of doing it a first time it could do it again. All the suspicion would keep her from fully trusting him for a long time. She's probably start to withdraw because she'd be resenting him and her decision to try and fix their relationship probably also she wouldn't want to throw herself back into it if she wasn't sure that it would work out. Fixing the mistake that had been made would be that much more difficult because she would be stalling it rather than contributing. This is one more example of how doubt can stall the aspect of life that it is affecting...
